How we get rid of the rotten-egg smell
That smell is hydrogen sulfide gas, and masking it doesn't work: it has to be oxidized and filtered out at the point where water enters your home. Oxidizing filtration converts the dissolved gas into a filterable form and traps it, so the smell is gone at every tap, hot and cold. When the odor lives only in the hot water, the culprit is usually the water heater itself rather than the supply, and that gets a different, cheaper fix; testing tells us which one you need.
How iron removal actually works
Dissolved iron rides invisibly in the water until it hits air, oxidizes, and drops out as the orange-brown stain on your fixtures and laundry. An iron filtration system forces that reaction to happen inside the tank instead of on your sinks: oxidize first, then catch the particles in filtration media, then backwash them away. The media and tank size come straight from your measured iron level and household flow, which is why we test before we quote.
